| From Severna Park: Take Ritchie Hwy (Rt. 2) North. Turn right at Magothy Bridge Road (at Earliegh Heights Fire Dept.) and follow approximately 3 miles; turn right onto Rt. 100 East. Route 100 will merge into Mountain Road (Rt. 177). Follow Mountain Road for about 3 miles. About 1/2 mile after passing Chesapeake High School (school is on your left) Mountain road will turn to the right. [Do not go straight toward Downs Park]. After turning right, follow Mountain Road an additional 2 miles. Gibson Island Country School will be on the right, just before the Gibson Island Entrance/Guard Station. |
| Parking at Gibson Island Country School Parking is very limited on the school grounds. Just past the pickup circle at the end of the driveway, there is a small parking area. Parking is allowed on both sides of the driveway on school grounds, but please take care to not block the driveway or the circle. At larger school events parking on both sides of Mountain Road is typical. This section of Mountain Road is not particularly busy, but it is the only access to Gibson Island itself. Care should be taken when parking there to assure personal safety, and to avoid disruption of traffic, driveways, mailbox access or other aspects of personal property. |
